Neighborhoods

When the time has come for you to buy a new home in Springfield, one of the city's local agents will be able to provide you with important information on neighborhoods and communities for you and your family to consider. They will also be able to give you current home values and compare them throughout the city. Compared to cities like Springfield, such as those surrounding Toronto, you will find that the city has a lot to offer at a great value.

When looking at real estate market norms, you will find that you get more for less money with a Springfield New Home (Ontario homes typically list for the same amounts but for smaller lots and properties. Springfield properties also do not have the kinds of premiums for waterfront real estate than what one finds in similar cities). Two bedroom family homes can be found at a starting price of around $80,000 in Pine Point and Liberty Heights.

Outside of Springfield's downtown core, you can find 3 bedroom homes in East Forest Park and Liberty Heights listing for about $150,000. As you would find with Ajax homes for sale, these neighborhoods offer a community feel with great schools and pedestrian culture while being a short drive from the downtown districts.

Outside of the city, rural three bedroom properties on larger lots can be found for around $200,000. As with Port Credit real estate outside of Toronto, one could buy a lot for $100,000 and invest $200,000 in building a new home outside of Springfield (while being just a 45 minute commute to the city's business district). Farm and cottage lots typically sell for $10,000-$60,000 per acre, depending on your proximity to the city.

As with downtown Toronto homes, home buyers can expect to pay a bit of a premium for being in homes that are often larger and older, located right in the core of the city. However, a four bedroom house similar to one that would cost $400,000 in Toronto's Humber River area can be found in the Old Hill for only $280,000.

If you are in the market for a downtown townhouse or condo, Springfield has a number of established and emerging properties you should look at. From converted industrial spaces to exciting urban pockets in the downtown core, the city has some great offerings. As with Bloor West Village real estate options in a city like Toronto, you will find a flourishing and dynamic community of young professionals. In both cities, entry-level investments in one of these trendy spots typically starts at around $160,000 for a good quality, two bedroom suite or loft.

When considering schools for your children, your daily commute to work, and your day-to-day lifestyle, there are a lot of great options you and your Springfield real estate agent should examine. From the Bay area to Liberty Heights, from riverside homes and stylish condominiums in the heart of the city, each neighborhood has something different to offer every prospective home buyer in Springfield.
